On 11 July, the premiere of the Kitzbühel Cycle Marathon will take place, which is a tough challenge with 216 kilometres and 4,600 metres of altitude. Four climbs await the participants: from Kitzbühel, the route leads over the Pass Thurn, the Gerlos Pass, the Kerschbaumer Sattel and in the selective finale, a steep ramp awaits the finishers with the Kitzbüheler Horn.
If you have too much respect for the 216 kilometres, you can also take part in the relay: There are women's, men's and mixed relay categories. The transition zones are located after 50 kilometres in Wald im Pinzgau, after a further 75 kilometres in Brixlegg and the final section is 96 kilometres long. The 2,600 metres in altitude with the final ascent to the Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn is a difficult but manageable task.
The premiere of the Kitzbühel Cycle Marathon will be broadcast on television in Austria: the race can be seen in more than 900,000 households on the Magenta cable network (K19 channel 319), A1 TV (K19 channel 399 & APP 100) and other regional cable networks. The livestream is also available at www.k19.at retrievable.
The entry fee for the race is ambitious: 129 euros for the individual start and 210 euros for the relay start.
