The route of the SuperGiroDolomiti ultra-marathon is 25 kilometres shorter than in previous years. The reason for the route change is road damage in Friuli. The new route on 9 June covers 207 kilometres and 4,597 metres in altitude from Lienz via the Gailbergsattel to Kötschach Mauthen, then over the Plöcken Pass to Paluzza in Italy. After a loop via Chiaulis, Paularo and Paluzza, the Plöcken Pass is crossed from the other side. The long climb in the Lesach Valley to the Kartitscher Sattel follows via St. Lorenzen, before heading back to the finish in Lienz via Mittewald. Every finisher of the SuperGiroDolomiti receives a cycling jersey designed by a primary school class in Paularo/Friaul.
On Friday 7 June, all registered participants will have the opportunity to join Patrick Konrad, Lukas Pöstlberger, Emanuel Buchmann and other riders from Team Bora-Hansgrohe on a tour around the Lienz Dolomites.
