On 11 July, the starting signal for the 24-hour race will once again be given in Kelheim, Lower Bavaria. Around 1,200 starters are expected.

Joys and sorrows lie close together in Kelheim: while the atmosphere is still splendid during the ride through the beer tent, the climb to the Befreiungshalle a little later reminds us of the strenuous side of the route. The 16-kilometre lap has an elevation gain of 170 metres. The fastest men's teams manage well over 50 laps and the fast individual riders complete over 40 laps.
