On 18 September 2021, the 11th edition of the ASVÖ King of the Lake will once again take place around Lake Attersee. For the first time, the starting places for the EZF will be raffled and not allocated directly.

In previous years, the starting places have sold out quickly - in 2021, you don't have to be quick, you just need the luck of the draw. You can pre-register for a starting place from 9 to 25 April, after which the tickets will be drawn.

The organising cycling club Atterbiker.at has also announced changes elsewhere: In addition to the "King of the Lake", the "Queen of the Lake" powered by Lenzing AG and the "Elite King" powered by Garmin, 2021 will be the first time that young people will be in contention for the "U23 King of the Lake" powered by Raiffeisen. In addition to the 4-man team time trial powered by Bioracer, the team classifications will once again include the 10-man team time trial, which has been new since 2020. The route is familiar: 47.2 kilometres on a completely closed road around Lake Attersee.

The entry fee for the individual time trial is 65 euros, the entry fee for the 4-man team time trial is 220 euros and the entry fee for the 10-man team time trial is 450 euros.

Note 12.4.2021: Unfortunately, we received a press release from the organiser in which it was mentioned that all 1,400 starting places would be drawn. Contrary to what was previously announced, the starting places for the team time trial were allocated directly. This is annoying for participants who were therefore unable to get a starting place. We can only refer to the information we received from the organisers in advance.

The information originally sent to us in full:

"That's why the online registration, which opens on 9 April at www.kotl.at will run for 17 days, after which the 1,400 starting places will be drawn from the collected registrations."
