Denmark: JutlandPhoto: Hans-Georg Gaul
In the heart of Jutland, in the Søhøjlandet region, idyllic little roads lead past clear lakes, through the largest forest area in Denmark and to moderate climbing sections. (TOUR 6/2007)

Cyclists certainly don't come to Denmark to hone their climbing form. The smallest Scandinavian country is the flattest in Europe. So flat, in fact, that decades ago a dispute broke out over the highest elevation. It was all about centimetres. Only one thing was certain: each of the three candidates with a height of around 170 metres is located in the middle of Jutland in the Søhøjlandet region. Despite the lack of mountain passes and long climbs, it is all the more surprising that it was a Dane who recently won the mountain classification at the Tour de France twice in a row: Michael Rasmussen.
