Test 2017: Road bike lighting from Busch & Müller - Busch & Müller IQ-X headlights in the test

The latest model is called IQ-X and is the brightest in the well-known Lumotec series. According to the manufacturer, the headlamp, which is available in black and silver and comes in an elegant aluminium housing, breaks the 100 lux mark for the first time, which is a good figure for dynamo headlights. However, much more important than the pure number are the brightness and light pattern in practice. The stylish headlight impresses from a speed of 5 km/h with a flicker-free carpet of light that illuminates the road brightly, widely and, above all, at close range. Sensor-controlled daytime running lights and parking lights with additional lateral illumination are further plus points. The two-arm handlebar bracket (€20) is recommended to go with the headlight, which can be mounted upright or suspended, allowing the headlight to be mounted in the centre of racing handlebars with round tube cross-sections.
