The compact headlight with parking light switches on automatically under sensor control and amazes with its astonishing light output even at low speeds. Its wide, homogeneous light field is sufficient up to approx. 30 km/h to recognise obstacles in good time, even on unlit roads. This little light miracle is powered by the gearless "20 R" hub dynamo. Weighing just 395 grams, the generator does not rotate noticeably more slowly than a normal front hub when switched off. Even when the lights are on, the bike runs smoothly and the additional pedalling effort is below the threshold of perception. The elaborately sealed hub rotates around a hollow aluminium axle with stainless steel ends; a PVC-free coaxial cable conducts the current.
The only catch: if the law is strictly interpreted, the dynamo hub originally developed for the higher speed of folding bike wheels may not be used on a racing bike; its approval only applies to wheels up to 20 inches.
