The natural area of application for this flamethrower is night rides on mountain bikes or 24-hour races. The lamp is hardly suitable for road traffic - because the test mark is missing and because oncoming road users are likely to drive into the ditch in fright if they are dazzled by the light cannon. Nevertheless, we were impressed by the Toro. The milled aluminium housing is excellently finished, the variable lamp holder is foolproof and extremely robust.
ClassThe wired remote control, with which the light intensity can be adjusted from the top handlebar or brake lever without having to reach round. Our test lamp did not quite reach the promised three hours of light duration, but the light duration at level three (30 per cent) was significantly longer than promised at almost two days.
ConclusionA smart but expensive enlightenment.
PLUSextremely bright; very well made
MINUSstrong glare from oncoming traffic; no test mark; relatively expensive
