TOUR-Test 2015: Cateye and Strada Smart - harmonious connection via Bluetooth
Smart little thing: The Strada Smart connects easily to the Cateye Cycling app via Bluetooth Smart and mirrors the most important data from the smartphone onto its display.

The smartphone as a bike computer is actually a brilliant idea. GPS is already on board, and modern sensors can be integrated into various apps via Bluetooth. The drawback is that people are reluctant to strap the usually very expensive mobile phones to their handlebars; the displays are difficult to read in the sun and drain the battery very quickly. Cateye presents a solution. The Strada Smart easily connects to the Cateye Cycling App via Bluetooth Smart and mirrors the most important data from the smartphone onto its display. The mobile phone remains protected in the jersey and collects the most important ride data via GPS. Heart rate belts, power meters and other sensors that have Bluetooth Smart can be paired. We also recommend the latter, as the speed display in GPS mode can fluctuate considerably. Once the ride is complete, the app can transfer the data to Strava or Training Peaks for processing or analysis, or post it on Facebook.

PLUS Versatile; easy coupling with sensors; simple handling
MINUS Partly inaccurate without speed sensor
