Sigma bike computer ROX 9.1
Sigma has revised its ROX series. A special feature of the current 9.1 and 8.1 models is an integrated watt display.

However, the cyclist's performance is not measured but calculated. The formula takes into account the bike type (road bike, MTB), seat position (lower or upper handlebar), rider weight and height, wheel weight, shoulder width and incline/decline. The ROX takes into account riding influences such as air resistance based on shoulder width, height and position on the bike, and rolling resistance depending on the preset bike type. However, comparative rides with a power meter revealed the weaknesses of this system. Even with longer intervals (20 seconds) at 300 to 400 watts, the display deviates significantly from the power determined by the power meter and shows around 100 watts too little. If you ride downhill, the display shows zero, even if you are pedalling. The power calculation is therefore not suitable for training with intervals; however, on alpine tours and long mountain rides, it still provides a reasonable indication of whether you are pedalling evenly.

PLUS Wide range of functions; evaluation software
MINUS Not suitable for performance-based training based on watts

Prices 200 / 160 Euro (ROX 9.1 / 8.1)
