However, the mounts of many models are not primarily designed to optimally position the device in the cyclist's field of vision. In 2012, the US company Tate Labs thought there was a better way and developed - initially exclusively for Garmin's Edge models - the Barfly mount, which places the display in front of the handlebars and therefore right in the rider's field of vision. While the original Barfly quickly attracted numerous copiers (even Garmin now offers a Barfly replica itself), Tate Labs has not been idle and has developed the concept into an entire product family. Various special mounts are now available that can also hold computer models from other manufacturers such as Cateye (pictured, €24.99) and Cycleops as well as the iPhone 5 in front of the handlebars. The programme also includes solutions for various clamp diameters, such as for triathlon attachments or Deda 35 handlebars.
