Many smartphone owners are reluctant to strap their expensive device to the stem as a bike computer because they are afraid that it will be damaged in a fall or give up the ghost in the rain. Many mounts are also quite bulky and do not match the sleek appearance of a road bike. The Quadlock smartphone mount fulfils both criteria: It holds the device securely and is hardly bulky. The mounting base on the stem engages in the recess on the back of the protective cover using a bayonet lock, and the blue ring secures or releases the connection.
Despite the bayonet cut-out, the smartphone case is thin and does not get in the way in your trouser pocket. With an additional rain cover, the whole thing is weatherproof and all buttons remain operable. Suitable smartphone covers are currently available
for the iPhone versions 5, 6 and 6 plus.
Other devices can make contact with the mounting base via an adhesive adapter. Quadlock also offers numerous other mounts for attachment to arms, belts, car windscreens or other smooth surfaces. At
70 euros, the bike set is not exactly inexpensive, but it is easy to use, sleek in appearance, absolutely secure and weatherproof.
PLUS holds securely, is hardly noticeable
MINUS with matching case so far only for iPhones
