It's never too late to optimise your set-up, as the UAE Team Emirates - XRG impressively demonstrates with its 3D-printed sat nav holder. On the second rest day of the Tour de France 2025, new computer mounts were introduced for the Colnago Y1Rs.

Even late in the Tour de France, the setup is sometimes tweaked: The UAE Team Emirates - XRG seems to have received new computer mounts for the aero racer Y1Rs from Colango on the 2nd rest day. They were obviously produced using a 3D printer and fit into the V-shaped handlebar unit of the racing car. The underside of the computer is covered with a kind of shell. These and other insights can be found in our live blog from the tour.

Holder from last year banned by the UCI

We had also seen similarly printed mounts last year at UAE (for Wahoo) and INEOS Grenadiers (for Garmin). When we asked why they were no longer used there, we were told that they had been banned by the UCI because they were an aerodynamic fairing.

Unfortunately, the team couldn't tell us what the situation is with the part for the Colnago Y1Rs and whether the holder will be available to buy at some point.
