A titanium frame, 60-millimetre tyre clearance and two different fork options: with the Vagus:i, the French small-batch manufacturer Chiru presents a gravel bike that is as versatile as it is distinctive.

Chiru is one of those bicycle brands that, which are worth taking a closer look at. The French company specialises in high-quality titanium frames and, with the Vagus:i, is unveiling the next generation of its all-round gravel bike. The ‘i’ stands for integration – this is particularly evident in the bike’s clean, delightfully uncluttered appearance.

The frame is made from triple-butted Grade 9 titanium tubes. Varying wall thicknesses and bi-oval tube profiles are designed to combine low weight, high stiffness and the riding comfort typical of titanium. Chiru states that the frame weighs 1,620 grams. The complete bike pictured is said to weigh 7.8 kilograms.

Two forks, two characters

One of the Vagus:i’s standout features is the two fork options on offer. With the Enve Gravel Fork and tyres no wider than 50 millimetres, the bike is designed to feel direct, precise and responsive – a configuration ideal for fast gravel routes and sporty riding.

If you prefer a rougher ride, go for the CEC #425W. It accommodates tyres up to 60 millimetres wide and is said to give the Vagus-i a smoother ride, greater comfort and more reserves on technical trails. The titanium frame itself offers space on the rear wheel for tyres up to 700 × 52C. Chiru recommends tyre widths of 45 to 52 millimetres at the rear and 50 to 55 millimetres at the front as ideal.

This places the Vagus-i somewhere between a fast gravel racer and a lightweight drop-bar mountain bike. It offers a fairly wide range of uses – all wrapped up in a frame whose minimalist titanium look is refreshingly understated.

The Chiru Vagus-i is available in sizes XS to XL. The frame set, comprising a CEC carbon fork, headset and seatpost clamp, is priced from 3,345 euros. Pre-orders will open following the launch at Roc d’Azur on 8 October 2026, with the first deliveries scheduled for February 2027.
