Whilst most manufacturers are quietly replacing their cyclocross models with gravel bikes, Stevens remains firmly committed to cyclocross. In the summer of 2026, they will be launching the new Super Prestige, a cyclocross bike that has been completely redesigned from the ground up – featuring a significantly lighter carbon frame and brand-new components.

Editor’s verdict: Cross is alive and well!

The new Stevens Super Prestige makes a statement: cyclo-cross is alive and well – at least in Hamburg. With a weight saving of almost 400 grams on the frame and fork alone, more aggressive geometry and well-thought-out details for racing, the Hamburg-based brand has clearly continued to refine its classic model. - Adrian Kaether, Test & Technology Editor

Fell victim to the gravel

Genuine cyclo-cross bikes with agile geometry and UCI-compliant tyres have long been on the verge of extinction. Gravel bikes dominate the segment and have displaced classic cyclo-cross bikes at many brands. Not so at Stevens: the Hamburg-based company is launching a completely new generation of its flagship model, the Super Prestige, and has introduced some impressive improvements.

Background: The Super Prestige Cross has been making history since 2003. Eighteen cyclo-cross world champions have won titles or competed in races on the Hamburg-built bike – including big names such as Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert and Marianne Vos. This legacy is certainly one of the reasons why Stevens remains so actively involved in cyclo-cross.

Frame put on a diet

At the heart of the new edition is the carbon frame, which has been redesigned from the ground up. Stevens not only promises better handling, but also provides concrete figures: compared to the previous generation, the new frame is said to be 255 grams lighter and, at 995 grams, just manages to break the magic 1-kilo barrier. The new fork takes it a step further: weighing 395 grams instead of 520, it’s 125 grams lighter than its predecessor.

Aerodynamics, shoulder comfort and mud clearance

As well as the weight, Stevens has also made improvements in other areas. The new aerodynamically optimised fork is designed to reduce drag. The redesigned top tube makes the bike easier to carry. Thanks to its flattened shape and the smooth transition to the rear triangle, the bike now sits much more comfortably on your shoulder when running.

Stevens has also made further improvements when it comes to mud: the frame and fork are now designed to offer even more clearance, particularly at the critical transition from the seat tube to the chainstays. The UCI limit for cyclo-cross tyres remains, of course, at 33 millimetres. But this ensures a smooth ride even on very muddy courses.

From 3,399 euros – models and specifications

The new Super Prestige is available as a frameset and in two complete bike variants – both fitted exclusively with electronic gear systems:

Super Prestige ULT – €4,399

The top-of-the-range model features Shimano Ultegra Di2 2x12 for a finely graduated gear system with maximum range. The double crankset was apparently fitted at the explicit request of the professional teams. In cyclo-cross, many bikes are otherwise only available with a single-chainring drivetrain. The Leeze CC 45 BASIC AR wheels and Schwalbe X-One R Evolution (33-622) tyres round off the setup. According to the manufacturer, the complete bike weighs just 7.7 kg despite the double-chainring setup.

Super Prestige Rival – €3,399

The second version is fitted with SRAM Rival AXS 1x13 – a minimalist setup designed for the simplest possible operation in race conditions. The DT Swiss E 1800 Spline wheels and Schwalbe X-One R Evolution tyres (33-622) ensure solid performance. However, the relatively heavy aluminium wheels are likely to be the first component that ambitious cyclo-cross riders will want to upgrade for a more nimble ride. The standard weight is 8.0 kg – which is also a respectable figure given the price.

Anyone wishing to build the Super Prestige to their own specifications can purchase the frame kit for 2,499 euros – frame and fork included. Incidentally, those looking for a more affordable entry-level option will still find it in the Stevens Vapor: this aluminium cross bike remains in the range and is available from as little as 1,999 euros.
