The Canyon Aeroad CFR Di2 impressed in the TOUR test as an uncompromising professional aero racing bike. Due to the model change, the 2025 version is now available at a significantly reduced price. The key point: the previous model and its successor are almost identical in construction. So what do you have to do without on the discounted 2025 model compared to the brand-new Aeroad?

Our verdict on the discounted Canyon Aeroad CFR Di2

The Canyon Aeroad CFR Di2 (2025) remains an absolute benchmark racing bike with outstanding test ratings and is undoubtedly one of the most popular road bike models amongst ambitious riders. For those who can do without the new UDH derailleur hanger and the optional handlebar choices offered by its successor, the 2025 model – now reduced by 1,500 euros – offers a WorldTour-proven dream bike at an extremely attractive value for money.

WorldTour-level performance

The Canyon Aeroad CFR Di2 represents the cutting edge of modern aero road bikes. And when it comes to this statement, there is no need to distinguish between the 2025 model and its successor. Designed for maximum speed at professional level, it combines extremely lightweight CFR carbon fibres with aerodynamics perfected in the wind tunnel. At Canyon, the abbreviation ‘CFR’ stands for Canyon Factory Racing and guarantees the manufacturer’s highest-quality carbon lay-up, resulting in an extremely stiff yet lightweight frame set.

In the editorial team’s practical test, the platform makes a strong impression: the handling is razor-sharp and extremely agile, without feeling twitchy at high speeds. Thanks to the enormous stiffness of the bottom bracket, the acceleration is immediately noticeable – every pedal stroke is converted directly into forward momentum with no loss of power. Despite its pronounced aero tube shapes, the Aeroad offers surprising levels of comfort in the saddle, making even long rides a breeze. It combines outstanding wind tunnel performance with genuine all-round performance on the road.

The model change: a 1,500-euro discount versus new features

With the launch of the updated model range for 2026/2027, the price of the 2025 model has fallen dramatically. Both the version with Shimano Di2 electronic shifting and the model with SRAM AXS are currently reduced by a whopping 1,500 euros.

The differences compared with the brand-new successor are surprisingly minor: the entire frame geometry and the aerodynamic tube shapes remain completely identical on the 2026/2027 successor. Anyone opting for the discounted 2025 model will simply have to do without two specific equipment details:

  1. The new universal derailleur hanger (UDH derailleur hanger), which ensures compatibility with more modern direct-mount rear derailleur standards.
  2. The option to customise the bike in the configurator. For example, with the new model, you can choose between three different handlebar configurations.
