The new cockpit for the Zwift Ride It comprises the Supersonic Bracket, the Ergo+ armrests and the 52A aluminium extensions in the Ski-Bend design. At the heart of the integration is a newly developed 50 mm Zwift tray, which provides the necessary space for mounting the aerobars, thereby enabling a customised riding position.
Profile Design paid particular attention to usability: special mounts position the Zwift Click controllers in such a way that gear changes, steering and navigation remain possible even from the aero position. This allows users to practise their time trial position without having to compromise on control.
The Supersonic Bracket is made from forged 6061-T6 aluminium and, with a stack height of 42 millimetres, has a comparatively compact design. The width can be adjusted by 37 millimetres. The handlebar clamp diameter is 31.8 millimetres, whilst the extensions are clamped using the 22.2-millimetre standard commonly used in triathlon and time trial cycling.
The Ergo+ armrests are designed to ensure comfort. With a length of 124 millimetres and an additional 16-millimetre stack, they offer an enlarged support surface. According to the manufacturer, this is designed to reduce pressure points and keep the arm position stable even during long training sessions. The reach can be adjusted in 15-millimetre increments, and the width in 18.5-millimetre increments.
The 52A aluminium extensions supplied measure 400 millimetres in length and have an angle of 52 degrees. The rise is 87 millimetres and the offset is 15 millimetres. The Ski-Bend design is intended to allow for a natural hand position. Pre-fitted heat-shrink grips are also included in the scope of delivery.
Despite their robust aluminium construction, the extensions are comparatively light, weighing 222 grams per pair – although light weight is not a selling point for indoor training.
The complete Aero Cockpit will make its debut at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kailua-Kona. As well as the aerobar system, the package also includes a pair of Zwift Click controllers, USB-C covers and the necessary Allen keys.
The Zwift Ride Supersonic Aerobar is priced at 245 euros. This means the system is primarily aimed at Zwift users who want to tailor their indoor sessions more closely to time trial and triathlon training. The aerobar is now available for pre-order, with deliveries starting on 7 November.
