Pascal Ackermann, born in 1994, has ridden for three teams in his cycling career so far: Rad-Net Rose Team (2013-2016), Bora-Hansgrohe (2017-2021) and since 2022 for UAE Team Emirates.
Pascal Ackermann: The greatest successes
Pascal Ackermann's most important successes include winning the points classification at the Giro d'Italia In addition, he won two stages each of the Giro d'Italia 2019 and the Vuelta a Espana 2020.
Pascal Ackermann also enjoyed success on the track as a junior: in 2011, he was two-time German junior champion in the 1000 metre time trial and team sprint disciplines. In 2013, Ackermann switched to Team Rad-Net Rose and focussed on road cycling. In 2016, he secured the German championship title in the U23 road race in Berlin.
Pascal Ackermann very successful in 2019
In 2017, Ackermann signed his first contract with a World Tour team at Bora-Hansgrohe. Success quickly materialised there. For example, he won the sprint classification at the Tour of the Alps. Ackermann did very well in 2019, triumphing in the two one-day races Clasica de Almeria and Bredene Koksijde Classic. This was followed on 1 May by one of the highlights of his career to date: victory in the Eschborn-Frankfurt one-day race.
Ackermann capitalised on his good form in the following Giro d'Italia, where he won the second and fifth stage and also secured the points classification. He was the first German to win this special classification. In 2020, Ackermann went one better and won two stages at the Tour of Spain, among others. In 2022, he finally joined the UAE Team Emirates squad.
