2018

Nils Politt celebrated his breakthrough in 2018 with the then Team Katusha Alpecin. He finished second on the fifth stage of Paris-Nice and seventh in the Paris-Roubaix Monument. Politt then spent the 2020 season with Team Israel Start-Up Nation - now operating under the name Israel-Premier Tech. However, he was unable to build on his strong performances there. His best result was a fourth place in a Paris-Nice stage, so he subsequently moved on.

2021

In 2021, Nils Politt rode for Bora-Hansgrohe and celebrated his greatest success to date in his first year with the German team. He won the twelfth stage of the Tour de France from Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux to Nimes as a soloist. In the same year, he also won the Deutschland Tour, including a stage victory.

2022

In spring 2022, Politt once again underlined his strength in the classics. He finished fifth in Dwars door Vlaanderen and won his home race Rund um Köln. He also became German road race champion and helped his team-mate Aleksandr Vlasov to fifth place overall in the Tour de France.
