Jay Vine: From indoor cycling to professional cyclist

The Australian is a late starter in the racing bike sector. The coronavirus period was a stroke of luck for Vine: he joined Team Alpecin in 2021 after securing a place in the team via the Zwift Academy, where he won the final. For Team Alpecin-Fenix, he rode to second place overall in the 2021 Tour of Turkey. Later that year, he contested his first three-week national tour at the Vuelta a Espana, which he finished in 73rd place overall.

In 2022, Vine once again proved his skills in indoor cycling and became e-cycling world champion. His big breakthrough in road cycling came at the Vuelta a Espana in September, where he won two mountain stages.

Jay Vine was signed by UAE Team Emirates for the 2023 season. Right at the start of the season, he secured the individual time trial title at the Australian Championships and shortly afterwards also won the overall classification of the Tour Down Under.
