The Deutschland Tour 2024 will take place from 21 to 25 August. In recent weeks, the organisers have announced more and more details about the route. With the publication of the start location of the final stage, the route plan now only contains one or two question marks, which will surely be resolved soon.
If you enter Annweiler am Trifels and Saarbrücken in a tour planner and select road bike, the route is around 90 kilometres long. As the crow flies, the distance is 70 kilometres. However, the route planners have of course not only entered the start and finish into a planning tool, but have also considered greater challenges for the finale of the Deutschland Tour 2024.
The route from the second oldest town in the Palatinate to the Saarland metropolis is by no means straight and level. From Annweiler am Trifels to Saarbrücken, there are many changes of direction and constant ups and downs. Annweiler am Trifels and the cycling-loving district of Südliche Weinstraße are hosting the Deutschland Tour at the end of August and are expecting many guests to come to Trifelsland for this sporting highlight. Fans can look forward to an exciting finale in the style of the great cycling classics on 25 August.
There is a lot to discover in Trifelsland, from legendary castle ruins to fantastic hiking trails along bizarre sandstone formations. It's no coincidence that Christian Burkhard, mayor of the municipality of Annweiler am Trifels, says: "Anyone visiting the Deutschland Tour mega-event will also be able to discover a lot here away from the race route."
