Because current eleven-speed cassettes from Shimano and SRAM are slightly wider than older ten-speed cassettes, most ten-speed wheels cannot be combined with modern eleven-speed drivetrains. The "Cromo Cassette" from Taiwanese manufacturer Token provides a remedy. The cassette, which is milled from a solid piece of material, sits on a plastic carrier whose width is adapted to ten-speed hubs. With this solution, the eleventh sprocket is somewhat closer to the spokes than usual. However, there were no problems on two of the ten-speed wheels we rode (Shimano Dura-Ace C24, Zipp 303). Compared to the original cassettes from Shimano and SRAM, the Token cassette produces slightly higher chain noise - a phenomenon for which the similarly designed cassette of the first SRAM Red generation was also known. Available with 11-25 and 11-28 teeth.
