The KMC "X10SL" chain for ten-speed drivetrains has proven itself over 4,000 kilometres to date. The 240 gram lightweight drivetrain was ridden on a Shimano Dura Ace groupset. Shifting and running characteristics were impeccable over the test period. A practical feature is the locking link, which allows the chain to be opened and closed without tools. Wear was very low: the chain only lengthened by 0.25 millimetres per eight links and thus remained well below the tolerance of 0.8 millimetres specified by the manufacturer. The gold version of the "X10SL" coated with titanium nitrite costs 70 euros, while the nickel-plated version costs 65 euros.
PLUS: Very light and wear-resistant
MINUS: High price
