Road bike brake "EE-Brake" (single test)
86 grams lighter than SRAM "Red", 87 grams less than Campa "Super Record" and 106 grams lighter than Shimano "Dura-Ace" - with these advantages, the "ee-brake" from the USA is enchanting the lightweight construction scene.

Unlike many other tuning brakes, the braking performance of the stoppers, which are made of aluminium apart from the screws and springs, is still in the green zone. Although the pressure point is a little spongy, the bike can be decelerated safely and in a controlled manner. Plus points: the weight of 189 grams, the high-quality workmanship and a few design tricks: The joints are coated to reduce friction, and thanks to a clever release mechanism, the brake can be opened wide to change the wheel. The eccentric brake axle is also interesting - it even fits 28 millimetre wide tyres.

Available in black and silver, the pair comes with yellow pads from SwissStop. The brake pads accept all Shimano-compatible pads.

The disadvantage: the hefty price of 680 euros.

PLUSvery light; high-quality workmanship

MINUSundefined pressure point; extremely expensive
