There is also news in the Ultegra mid-range groupset: It is being expanded for off-road racing bikes. The two rear derailleurs with the suffix RX - there is a mechanical and an electronic Di2 version - have a friction damper that slows down the movement of the rear derailleur cage in the direction of travel. This technology, familiar from mountain bikes, is designed to reduce chain slap so that it does not jump off and runs more quietly. The mechanism can be switched off when the rear wheel is removed. The rear derailleurs are fully compatible with the current Ultegra components and can handle sprocket sets with up to 34 teeth.
