The Spanish component manufacturer Rotor is now officially launching its 1x13 drivetrain presented at the last Eurobike.
The disadvantages of single drivetrains on road bikes should therefore be a thing of the past: the gearbox should offer a similar range and gradations as are possible with 2 x 11 drivetrains, if you exclude the overlapping gears. The gearbox is suitable for road bikes and gravel bikes as well as mountain bikes because it can be combined with different shifters and many gear ratios. Only the hydraulic rear derailleur always remains the same.
For road bikes, the groupset with disc brakes and shift brake levers the Uno hydraulic double group The right-hand lever is the only one that can shift gears. There are nine different chainrings from 38 to 54 teeth for road and gravel bikes, which can be combined with three cassettes (10-36, 10-39 and 10-46 teeth). Power transmission is provided by a twelve-speed chain from KMC. The drivetrain is also compatible with 1 x 12 drivetrains from SRAM and the number of gears can be set on the rear derailleur. A special hub is required for the cassette, which has also been newly introduced.
Rotor offers a total of four different versions, ranging in price from just under two thousand euros to almost four and a half thousand euros. Due to the special hub of the single drive, special wheels are required, which are included in the different price ranges in varying quality. The total weight, to which the components alone contribute 1.785 kilograms, varies accordingly.
