The Podium cassettes consist of individual sprockets that are combined according to customer requirements. Sprockets from 11 to 30 teeth are available, and a 32-tooth sprocket is also available for Shimano/SRAM. Sprockets up to 21 teeth are made of steel, above that you can choose between steel or aluminium. Advantages over cassettes from the major manufacturers: Worn sprockets can be easily replaced individually. In addition, gradations can be realised that the series manufacturers do not offer, such as cassettes for junior racing classes with gear ratio restrictions.
In our case, we used a Campagnolo-compatible 11 to 30-tooth 11-speed cassette in combination with an Athena 3x11 groupset for over 1,500 kilometres. The shifting behaviour is flawless and there is no noticeable difference to the original cassette. In addition, Campa only offers sprockets up to a maximum of 29 teeth. With nine steel and two aluminium sprockets, the Podium cassette weighs 271 grams - only 20 grams more than a Chorus cassette with 11 to 25 teeth. The Podium (for Shimano/SRAM and Campagnolo) is slightly more expensive than the standard cassettes. However, the possibility of replacing individual sprockets compensates for the higher price in the long term.
