The stoppers, which are cleanly manufactured from carbon, aluminium and titanium, work according to the single-joint principle, whereby the front brake also has lever kinematics to increase the braking force. This is urgently needed, as the braking force of the single-pivot version is only sufficient on the rear wheel. Clever people who want to save another ten grams by fitting two front brakes will hardly get their bike to stop. A similar effect is experienced by those who combine the Fibula with Shimano's current generation brake levers ("Di2", "Dura-Ace" and "Ultegra"). Due to their modified gear ratios, the brakes only caress the rims instead of applying a powerful grip. This means that only riders of current Campagnolo and SRAM groupsets have the advantage of saving almost a hundred grams compared to standard brakes without any regrets. The price for the high-end diet is steep, but the braking performance of the Fibula is clearly superior to other tuning brakes.
