Individual test: Brake cable counterholder
Cantilever brakes are often annoying because they stutter. A clever brake cable counter-holder, which the Hamburg-based cross specialist Stevens has developed for its bikes, but which also fits many other cross forks with a hole in the head, helps to prevent this.

Instead of under the stem as usual, the 62 gram bracket is fixed to the fork crown. This means that the distance between the brake and the outer cable always remains the same and vibration is prevented. Two conical screws on the left and right support the bracket against the inside of the fork and prevent it from twisting.
