Jasper Philipsen has won the Classic Bruges-De Panne one-day race. The Belgian came out on top in the sprint of a small group.

Next World Tour victory for Alpecin-Deceuninck. After the Triumph of Mathieu van der Poel at Milan-San Remo last Saturday, his team-mate Jasper Philipsen at the Classic Bruges-De Panne.

Classic Bruges-De Panne: Philipsen wins in the sprint

After 211 kilometres, the Belgian came out on top of a four-man leading group. Second place went to the Dutchman Olav Kooij (Jumbo-Visma), third place went to Yves Lampaert (Soudal - Quick Step) ahead of Frederik Frison (Lotto-Dstny).



The race, which is actually predestined for a bunch sprint, was characterised by bad weather this year. Wind and rain caused the peloton to break up into many small groups in the finale. In the end, the four riders around Philipsen, who once again demonstrated his sprinting qualities, came out on top. The best German was Jonas Koch (Bora-Hansgrohe) in 16th place.
