Conclusion: Aerodynamically outstanding; well thought-out; variable handlebar system; lightweight; perfect Di2 integration

At just over € 9,000, the Speedmax is the most expensive Canyon of all time, but a look at the spec puts the price into perspective. For a comparable package w ith an eleven-speed Di2 and super-fast wheels, you w ould easily pay € 3,000 more elsewhere. However, it wouldn't do this bike justice if you only judged it by its price. No time trial bike currently looks so well thought out. Because there would have been no room between the handlebars and frame for a clean cable routing, the bike only comes with Di2 shifting, even in cheaper versions. The result in the wind tunnel - on a par with Cervélo - confirms the high level of development effort. The unusually long wheelbase for a time trial bike should soon set a precedent in the scene. No competitor's model tracks more confidently.
