The top model from Elite is a real hunk. Heavy, sturdy and very powerful. The six-kilogram flywheel mass turns very quickly at high speeds and coasts for a long time, so you can skip a pedal stroke and get back on easily. At very high speeds, the machine also gets loud and bumps a little due to the speed, and the brake also occasionally emits rattling control noises. The response times in Zwift are quite slow at around three seconds. The Elite app is useful, with an integrated three-year subscription, but it is annoying with poor gear ratios and minor hiccups. The power measurement via an optical sensor was on average twelve watts below the SRM reference. Even without mains power and an app, the trainer offers progressive resistance in a limited range.
