The small Tacx Flux S Smart makes the direct drive affordable with all its advantages: quiet, strong, good pedalling feel and precise. These features are similar to the more expensive model Tacx Flux 2 Smart the Dutch, which offers more braking power and is advertised with greater accuracy. But for most riders, the 1500 watts of the Tacx Flux S at 40 km/h should be sufficient. The flywheel mass is seven kilos.
The accuracy of our roller trainer test sample was very good. Sprinting at full power from a standing start? That's possible. K3 training with a cadence of 50 revolutions per minute at 300 watts? Also works without any restrictions or problems. The only small drawback is that the simulation of very steep hills is somewhat limited.
On Zwift, the riding experience with the affordable, smart Tacx roller trainer was impeccable. To be honest: you don't really need more roller trainers! Especially as the indoor training device also works very quietly: At normal speeds and power levels, you only hear the chain and the drive of the clamped wheel. In connection with the Tacx app, we noticed that the brake in ergometer mode oscillated significantly around the centre value at higher power levels. This was not noticeable during freewheeling.
