Test archive: the first version of the Tacx Flux was quiet and affordable. All test results of the Tacx Flux in detail.

Price breaker and quiet trainer. The device works with flywheel mass and eddy current brake and has comparable characteristics to the high-end trainers. The sound is pleasant and quiet up to medium speeds. The braking power is more than sufficient for normal riders. The ride feel is good, the resistance control is not the fastest, but still okay. The trainer generates a relatively high minimum braking power and can fortunately also be operated without an app - the resistance then increases progressively with the speed. The wattage values in the lower to medium range are only correct in ergometer mode with the Tacx app if a sufficiently low gear is used. This is good for the background noise, but a source of error if you are pedalling without an external power meter. The power measurement in the Flux works very accurately as soon as the inertia of the flywheel mass is overcome. The free Tacx app only offers basic functions. However, the trainer can be operated with third-party apps.
