The sandblasted aluminium casing sets the Silver Edition apart from the Standard version of the SL Grano F. The CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminium measures 85 x 46 x 53 mm and weighs 170 g. According to the manufacturer, the surface is said to feel different to the standard finish. It is fitted beneath the cycle computer. The StVZO-compliant version costs 269 euros, whilst the international version costs 279 euros.
Two OSRAM OSLON LEDs produce 1,100 lumens in full-beam mode with an illuminance of 130 lux at a maximum power of 13 watts. The biconical TIR lens shapes the light pattern with a defined cut-off line. The beam range extends to 230 metres. The headlamp features a daytime running light mode, dipped beam and main beam. An ambient light sensor controls the automatic mode.
The built-in lithium-polymer battery has a capacity of 17 Wh at 2.3 Ah. The runtime ranges from 1:30 hours to 12:00 hours in the StVZO version; the international version runs for up to 26:00 hours. The charging time is 3:30 hours. A Bluetooth remote control (BLE 5.2) switches between modes. The light is compatible with the Rotlicht Pro BT; both lights can be controlled via a single remote control. The housing meets IPX6 water resistance and IK09 impact resistance standards, and the operating temperature range is between -15°C and +50°C.
The switchable high beam sets the SL Grano F apart from many other StVZO-compliant lights. Where traditional headlights reach their limits on unlit country roads, the SL Grano F switches up to 1,100 lumens. This means bends, potholes and wildlife crossing the road become visible sooner. Lupine uses the SL Nano Optics, which have already proven their worth in other models. The aim is to achieve uniform illumination that eliminates dark spots and harsh transitions.
The second low-beam setting further extends the usable range. Whilst the first setting is sufficient for city traffic, the second setting provides greater range for fast descents or poorly lit cycle paths. You can switch between the modes using the Bluetooth remote control without having to take your hands off the handlebars.
