Colnago, the traditional Italian manufacturer of exclusive and successful racing bikes, is combining a special event in Monterey, California, with a new offer for Colnago owners. At the event on 11 April 2025, Colnago will showcase some exceptional bikes from the recent past, including the Steelnovo, the C68 Fleur de Lys, the V4Rs Tadej, as well as other special editions of the V4Rs. The event will also feature a collection of classic Colnago bikes from the Velo Pasadina collection.
Colnago is also introducing a so-called retrofitting programme - in response to the growing demand for authenticity on the market for used bicycles, according to the manufacturer. Owners of vintage bicycles can now have the originality of their bike certified and thus gain access to a range of exclusive benefits.
Colnago owners can fill out a form on the Colnago website, submit pictures of their bike and documents proving its origin, such as the serial number of the frame or a purchase invoice. Colnago experts will check the information and provide feedback on the authenticity of the frameset. After verification, Colnago owners receive a certificate of authenticity and a special registered label that they can affix to the frame to ensure security and transparency. The proven authenticity of a Colnago road bike naturally increases its value, makes it easier to sell and is also a confidence-building measure for potential buyers. Blockchain registration also provides protection in the event of theft and makes it easier to identify a bike.
