Thule base carrier Wing Bar
Anyone who transports their racing car on the roof rack appreciates uncomplicated and quick installation, easy handling and low wind noise when driving fast on the motorway. As a specialist in wheel carrier systems, Thule has now designed the Wing Bar model with an aerodynamically optimised cross-section to reduce whistling noises while driving.

We fitted the crossbars weighing around eight kilos with integrated T-slot fastening together with the Rapid System load carrier feet (price 105 euros for Golf 4 without railing). Thanks to the vehicle-specific spacing information in the instructions, the feet and crossbars are relatively easy to pre-assemble. Once the system has been adapted to the vehicle width, it can be fitted and removed in five minutes with a little practice. At the recommended speed of a good 120 kilometres per hour, the crossbars do not produce any audible wind noise. However, when the wheel holder is fitted, it is essential to close the T-slot with the rubber strips provided, as the slot can generate loud noises.

PLUS sleek design; easy assembly for experienced screwdrivers; assembled in minutes with the Rapid system
MINUS Latching of the side panels somewhat weak
