Our Christmas gifts for cyclists are once again a colourful mix. There's even something for the little ones: for example, the children's book "Rennracker Robbie".

The most wonderful time of the year began with the first candle on 1 December. Almost half of the Advent calendar doors have now been opened, which means it's not long until Christmas. If you still haven't got a present, you'll have to get on with it. Unfortunately, the popular last-minute orders don't always make it under the Christmas tree in time with all the hustle and bustle. And while an adult can cope with the whole thing with understanding, a child may be in tears - after all, at a young age it's all about the presents, isn't it?

A gift for the next generation that you can also enjoy yourself? You can do it inconspicuously with the children's book "Racer Robbie" by Eurosport commentator Birgit Hasselbusch. This is an excellent way to get children interested in their own passion at an early age. Little Robbie is already a Tour de France fan and experiences the adventure of his life on holiday in France with his family. The grand tour passes through the holiday resort and Robbie and his family cheer on the pros along the route. Completely unexpectedly, he suddenly becomes a hero himself: A crash occurs directly in front of him, involving the young hopeful Bruno Jöness.

Undaunted and without thinking, he rushes to the aid of the German wearing the white jersey, fixes the defect on his bike in no time at all and pushes the only slightly injured rider back on. Robbie thus saves the young talent's race and becomes a minor star: spectators applaud, commentator Jens Voigt interviews the boy on the course and the French recognise the "guardian angel" on the road.

Overwhelmed by the consequences of his efforts, Robbie decides to get on his racing bike and follow Bruno Jöness to Paris, because he will certainly need his help again - and the great adventure begins. The story captivates young and old alike and also teaches them how a stage race works, how much cyclists have to eat and drink and why the Tour de France is so popular. With occasional explanations for reading aloud (from about five years) and reading by oneself (from ten years). Price: 16 euros >> e.g. available here
