When the founder of the Reynolds Composites brand, the former marketing manager of Felt and Enve and a former Cervélo engineer join forces, you can expect a fast product. Jim Pfeil, Beverly Lucas and Kevin Quan founded the Knight brand almost a year ago to launch an attack on the title of the fastest wheel in the world with aerodynamic carbon rims. Developed with the help of CFD programmes and various wind tunnels in the USA and Canada, the rims are built in Asia. The programme includes the three heights 35, 65 and 95 millimetres, the wheels are spoked with the proven DT Swiss hubs for the European market. The rim shape follows the latest aerodynamic findings with a wide, round rim base. Knight claims to have better aerodynamic properties than the competition from Enve, Zipp or Reynolds in all three classes and to be lighter at the same time. Prices range from 2,000 to 2,200 euros per set, depending on the rim height, and are therefore significantly lower than those of the competition.
