French manufacturer Lapierre has launched a recall for the Aircode DRS aero road bike and the Xelius SL3 lightweight model. The bikes were sold from September 2020.

As the French manufacturer announces on its website, the bikes in question are from model years 2021 to 2023 (Aircode DRS) and 2022-2023 (Xelius SL3). Only models equipped with an aluminium stem are affected. Variants with a carbon cockpit are expressly not part of the recall.

Lapierre warns of a possible breakage of the fork due to the installed combination of aluminium stem and reduction sleeve. This could lead to a crack in the steerer tube. Owners of the bikes are asked to stop using the bikes and to contact an authorised dealer of the brand. If the model is affected, the fork will be replaced as soon as possible.
