Test 2015: Haero H.155 MTT SL carbon handlebars
Haero Carbon is the subsidiary of a renowned Swabian automotive company that also manufactures carbon handlebars.

H.155 MTT SL carbon handlebars, manufactured in Germany, are extremely light (155 grams) and offer an additional function that makes them particularly (but not only) interesting for use in mountain time trials and short triathlons: either a closed short bar or two S-Bend extensions can be attached to two mounts elegantly integrated into the top bar. This allows the handlebars to provide an additional aerodynamic riding position. The excellent workmanship is impressive: Thanks to the roughened clamping area, the handlebars can be securely fixed with low tightening torques of the stem bolts. The supplied extensions sit in precisely manufactured mounts and can be easily fitted and removed using a hook spanner. The latter can come in handy before starts in UCI races, where handlebar extensions are prohibited. The modern bar shape with a short pre-bend and relatively compact curve is in line with the trend and should appeal to many riders. The slightly oval top bar is comfortable to grip. However, if you want to mount a modern computer such as the Edge devices from Garmin or the PowerControl from SRM, you will have to improvise. There is not enough space between the stem and extensions for most mounts.

PLUS Extremely light, additional aerodynamic seating position, top workmanship
MINUS not authorised for UCI races, computer mounting difficult
