Cane Creek has already launched suspension seat posts on the market in the past. Now the US company has come up with a suspension stem for gravel bikes.

Rough terrain can be negotiated with the Gravelbike quickly become a bumpy ride. Suspension stems should provide a remedy and reduce fatigue. Cane Creek has now launched a model on the market that reduces vibrations but can also be locked if desired.

Competition for suspension gravel bike stems

The new eeSilk stem is equipped with an elastometer suspension, which enables an adjustable suspension travel of up to 20 millimetres. In addition to Cane Creek, Redshift and Vecnum also offer suspension stems for gravel bikes. A detailed test report can be found here.

The elastomers in the new Cane Creek release were developed based on the riding style of the gravel bike rider and not their weight. The elastomers can be replaced with a single screw.

Various models available

With the help of a small lever, the suspension can be activated for rougher terrain or blocked for asphalt passages and pedalling in the cradle. Cane Creek offers the new eeSilk Stem online in various lengths: 80, 90 or 100 millimetres are available. Each model comes with three elastomers that vary in hardness depending on the length of the stem.
