Behind Bike Ahead is Christian Gemperlein, who learnt his trade from carbon guru Thomas Mertin from THM Carbones. The MTB carbon wheel from the former student project is one of the lightest on the market. Now there is also a version available for road bikes, the model is called Biturbo Road.
Depending on the version, the weight of the wheelset should only be around 1,100 grams, which defines the target group: The Biturbo Road is intended to offer an alternative to the top dog Lightweight in the lightweight construction sector. The six spokes are slightly more angular than last year and there is a little more material around the hub, which increases the wheel's stiffness values. In addition, the rim bed is now also suitable for tubeless tyres. The wheels are only available for disc brake road bikes, with quick-release or thru-axle versions (front 12 or 15mm, rear 10x142mm) as well as Shimano or Campagnolo rotors. The price will be an impressive 3,699 euros.
