Danish professional cyclist Jonas Vingegaard has won the Vuelta a España 2025. The rider from the Visma | Lease a Bike team crossed the finish line in Madrid as the overall winner, securing another Grand Tour victory after his Tour de France successes. During the three-week stage race through Spain, Vingegaard wore the Ultimate Air model from Italian shoe manufacturer Nimbl. "A Grand Tour victory is always something special, and this Vuelta was a tough test. I'm grateful to my team-mates for their support throughout the race. I'm happy to have such a strong team behind me and to have equipment that gives me the confidence to overcome any challenge," explained the newly crowned winner of the last Grand Tour of the season. He particularly emphasised the features of his shoes: "The Nimbl shoes have made a big difference - they are so light that you feel like you're wearing nothing, yet they offer full protection and transfer all the power to the pedals. The Air model I wore at the Vuelta offered a supportive and comfortable fit with its lacing system."
Worn by Vingegaard during his Vuelta victory, the Nimbl Ultimate Air has been equipped with a new monocoque carbon chassis, which according to the manufacturer is designed to reduce weight, increase stiffness and improve efficiency. The minimalist lacing system combines a stylish look with a supportive fit, while the slim, aerodynamic profile is said to offer a proven advantage. Francesco Sergio, CEO and co-founder of Nimbl, emphasises the importance of success: "This has been a season to remember, marked by extraordinary victories that inspired us to create the Summer Victory Collection. We are extremely grateful for the trust that athletes place in our products when they use them at the highest level of their sport." The collaboration with Vingegaard goes back several years, with the Danish professional cyclist contributing to the further development of the shoes with his feedback.
Team Visma | Lease a Bike put in an impressive team performance at this year's Vuelta. In addition to Vingegaard's overall victory, two other riders from the Dutch team - Sepp Kuss in seventh place and Matteo Jorgenson in tenth place - finished in the top 10 overall. This dominance underlines the strength of the team in Grand Tours. In addition, Matthew Riccitello secured the best young pro classification and rode to success in the white jersey with the Nimbl Ultimate Pro Edition model. The strong presence of Nimbl shoes in the peloton shows the trust that WorldTour athletes place in the Italian manufacturer's technology. For the final stage in Madrid, Vingegaard received a special red version of the Ultimate Air, which was designed especially for the occasion and is part of a limited collection dedicated to the season's successes.
Nimbl has established itself as a manufacturer of high-performance cycling shoes and, according to its own statements, emphasises the highest quality standards, combining Italian craftsmanship with innovation. The handmade shoes are worn by numerous WorldTour athletes and are designed to help cyclists optimise energy transfer without compromising on comfort or style. With the addition of apparel to the range, Nimbl continues to target riders who demand the highest standards. Vingegaard's success at the Vuelta a España 2025 underlines the brand's presence in professional cycling and also serves as a marketing platform for the Italian manufacturer's products. The special edition of the Ultimate Air in red presented to mark the victory symbolises the Danish professional cyclist's triumph in the Spanish tour.
