A popular cliché about women is that they have a shoe tic that many of them will never let go of for the rest of their lives. However, there is at least one group in the male world that fully understands this tic: Road cyclists. At trade fairs and in specialist shops, you can see them circling their objects of desire again and again, cradling them tenderly in their hands, gently stroking Velcro straps and pulling on ratchets. Such a slim-fitting, skin-tight high-tech shoe that radiates speed and dynamism even when standing - oh, even a man could be smitten. The only question is: do such sports shoes really have to cost 300 to 400 euros?
We invited all the well-known brand manufacturers to send us their best model for the test. A dozen accepted the invitation, so we were able to test twelve pairs of men's and eight pairs of women's models.
