Test 2018: Road bike shoe from Gaerne
Gaerne promises all the features of a top road cycling shoe for its G.Stilo + - we have ridden the model.

The richly perforated upper material should allow air to reach the feet, especially on hot days, while the stiff and thin carbon sole - also with small air openings - should transfer power efficiently to the pedals. And thanks to two Boa fasteners plus a well-shaped heel cap, every foot should find a secure hold in the shoe. With a weight of 275 grams per shoe (size 43.5), the G.Stilo + is not one of the lightest models, but it impresses with its soft upper material, which can be easily adapted to very different foot shapes thanks to the finely adjustable fasteners. Power transmission is also very direct, as promised. Useful details such as replaceable cleats on the heel and reflective material round off the model, which is available in four colours. For fans of Speedplay pedals, the G.Stilo + is even available with a Speedplay-compatible sole.

PLUS adapts well to individual foot shapes, finely adjustable Boa fasteners, climate management, good power transmission
MINUS Relatively heavy, expensive

Price 370 Euro
Sizes 41 to 46, half sizes, plus 47
Colours White, yellow, red, black
