With two Boa fasteners that can be turned in both directions, the shoe can be precisely adjusted over the instep; in combination with the non-slip coated heel area, it sits firmly on the foot without pinching. The concern that the mechanism of the fasteners might not be very durable proved to be unfounded. In our experience, Boa fasteners are very durable. And if one does break, they can be replaced. Different insoles can be used to correct misalignments of the foot and knee joint, although this requires expert advice. There is just one small point of criticism: Bontrager only offers the shoes in whole sizes and in white and red in Europe. For the US market, there are several intermediate sizes and a black version.
