The Italian shoe manufacturer is launching the Extreme X bringing the High Tail technology from the Veloce Extreme road racing shoe to the off-road sector. The Hyperlight HT sole is made from 100 per cent unidirectional carbon and is designed to enhance power transfer and efficiency. The asymmetrical design extends along the outer heel and stabilises the inner foot during intense pedalling.
Compared with the previous version, the Hyperlight HT sole offers 169 per cent greater torsional stiffness and 41 per cent greater compressive stiffness. The patented PowerShape arch support is designed to improve efficiency and comfort over long distances. Rubber-TPU inserts provide traction, whilst the studs are replaceable, extending the shoe’s lifespan.
Compared to the previous generation, the upper has been made lighter and its volume optimised. Laser-cut ventilation zones regulate the temperature, whilst the Anatomical Reticular Support structure (ARS 3.0) envelops the foot from the inside. The Underlap construction pushes the layers of material inwards via the twist locks, creating a uniform fit without pressure points. The SLW3 system allows for precise adjustments whilst riding via a side-mounted release mechanism.
Two anatomically shaped insoles are included: five millimetres thick for a narrow fit, and three millimetres thick for a standard fit. Both versions offer enhanced support for the arch and midfoot. The Extreme X is now available in white and black, in sizes 36 to 50 with half sizes from 39.5 to 45.5. The price is 299.99 euros >> available here.
