The Italian manufacturer from Verona has unveiled the IAAN, a gravel shoe designed for mixed surfaces ranging from tarmac to light off-road terrain. The shoe was unveiled at the International Bike Festival in Misano. It is suitable for road, gravel and light off-road terrain.
The transparent mesh upper forms the basis of the design. DMT uses a hexagonal mesh structure which is not only visually striking but also offers functional benefits. Dimple Tech technology is inspired by the aerodynamics of golf balls. According to the manufacturer, microstructured surfaces with small dimples are designed to reduce air resistance and increase efficiency at higher speeds.
The distinctive golf ball texture runs across the upper and features the Dimple Tech logo. The transparent mesh makes the shoe’s light weight apparent at first glance. The combination of PA and TPU provides structure without adding weight. This combination promises stability, breathability and a fresh feel whilst cycling. The IAAN is available in White/Lilac and Sand.
The completely redesigned sole features modified lug profiles and a softer rubber compound. This combination is designed to improve traction and walking comfort on a variety of surfaces. The sole’s design has been specifically developed for the changing conditions encountered when riding on gravel. Compared to DMT’s road models, the IAAN features a reinforced toe box, which offers additional protection when riding off-road.
The fastening system combines a Boa Li2 dial fastener with an asymmetrical layout. This configuration distributes pressure across the instep and allows for precise adjustment of the fit whilst riding. On the side of the shoe, three different faces depict various states of mind, visualising the ‘In Every Condition’ concept. This term refers not only to external conditions such as dry weather, rain or mud, but also to the rider’s mental state.
The DMT IAAN is already available to order via the official DMT website. Delivery will commence on 18 September 2026.
