The Danish brand Pas Normal Studios is expanding its Mechanism line with a Pro version for racing. The collection is aimed at riders who value race fit and technical materials.
The Mechanism Pro Jersey uses three different stretch fabrics that have been specially developed for Pas Normal Studios. The upper body is made of 77 per cent polyamide and 23 per cent elastane, while the lower body is made of 73 per cent polyamide, 26 per cent elastane and one per cent polyester. Mesh inserts on the front, back and sleeves are made from 74 per cent polyamide and 26 per cent elastane. The laser-cut sleeves do not require a silicone cuff, instead the grip is woven directly into the material. The collar is minimal to prevent chafing. The features include a YKK zip, three back pockets and an integrated waistband gripper.
The Mechanism Pro Bib Shorts use a structured fabric with zones of variable 4D stretch. The main material consists of 64 per cent polyamide, 35 per cent elastane and one per cent polyester, while the crotch area is made of 70 per cent polyamide and 30 per cent elastane. The leg ends also do without silicone grippers; the adhesion is generated by the fabric itself. The four-layer seat pad made of ultra-light foam is designed for an aerodynamic riding position. A pocket for radio equipment is integrated into the back mesh.
The long-sleeved jersey uses Schoeller fabric with coldblack technology and offers UPF 30 protection. The composition is 75 per cent polyamide and 25 per cent elastane. The YKK zip has covers at the top and bottom to prevent skin irritation. In addition to three back pockets, there is an additional zip pocket for valuables. The material is Bluesign-certified.
According to the manufacturer, the sleeveless vest stretches with you even when you are bent over. The fabric made from 65 per cent polyamide and 35 per cent elastane is knitted in Italy and is designed to wick away moisture quickly. The low-cut collar remains invisible under the jersey.
The Mechanism Pro Zipless Jersey has no zip and focuses on minimalism. The material composition corresponds to the vest with 65 per cent polyamide and 35 per cent elastane. There are three back pockets. Pas Normal Studios would like to point out that this jersey does not offer sun protection and recommends applying sun cream around 30 minutes before putting it on.
The Speedsuit combines the construction of bib shorts and jersey in a one-piece. The 77/23 polyamide/elastane blend is used on the upper body and the 74/26 ratio on the sleeves. The leg section uses the 64/35/1 material, the crotch area the 70/30 fabric. In addition to the radio pocket at the back, there is a cable guide at the front. The four-layer seat pad corresponds to that of the bib shorts.
The PAS Race Socks use Q-Skin yarn and are specifically moulded for right and left. The L-shape is designed to reduce excess material in the shoe. An arch support keeps the socks in position. The PAS logo is knitted into the side. The piqué structure ensures breathability. The material consists of 94 per cent polyamide and six per cent elastane.
The Tucker III 2Vi Mips helmet comes from Sweet Protection and utilises the 2Vi Technology Platform with Mips Air Node Safety System. The 360 Occigrip Fit System allows height and width adjustments while riding. Integrated goggle holders work with Sweet Protection goggles, Snap-On Aerocovers close the holders. The ventilation structure is internal, the 4-shell construction is reinforced by impact shields at the front and back. According to the manufacturer, rounded ventilation openings are designed to reduce air turbulence.
The fabrics for the jersey, bib shorts, long-sleeved jersey and speedsuit come from Italy, while production takes place in Portugal. The vest and sleeveless jersey are produced in Lithuania after the fabrics have been knitted in Italy. The socks are made in Portugal.
